2025 marks the first year of a 3-year partnership between Greenwood Industries and the Pan-Mass Challenge. Syracuse University named Greenwood CEO David Klein to the iSchool Board of Advisors. David Klein is a proud Syracuse alum and credits the iSchool’s precursor with helping him be pro-active. “It allowed me to think about what’s going to happen and not what is happening. Which has served me well. A lot of people think construction isn’t necessarily technology driven or forward thinking, but exactly the opposite is true.” David is passionate about giving back to Syracuse, in addition to this role he and his wife Elizabeth founded the George Klein Endowed Scholarship for Worcester area Syracuse students.
The National Roofing Contractors Association announced its annual Gold Circle Awards and Greenwood’s New York State Capitol Project was among the winners. The project was named as an Honorable Mention in the Steep Slope category, one of only two projects honored in this year’s awards. The project combined both low slope and steep slope roofing, but its steep-slope copper pavilion stood out to the judges.
Engineering News-Record’s annual Top 600 Specialty Contractors ranking was released, and Greenwood stands as the #6 ranked roofing contractor. Greenwood also ranked #8 in masonry. Overall, Greenwood stands at the #179’s specialty contractor in the country.
BUILD’s Facility Management Awards named Greenwood the best Roofing Contractor in the state of Massachusetts. These awards recognized the outstanding service Greenwood’s GRS division provides businesses and government facilities for their building envelope maintenance needs.
ENR’s Award of Merit went to the New York State Capitol Courtyard project in its Restoration/Renovation category. The award recognized the project which restored the courtyard to the original vision of the capitol’s architect during the building’s construction.
Roofing Contractor Magazine released its Top 150 Ranking and Greenwood Industries ranked eleventh. Greenwood was the 4th largest privately owned company on the list and the third largest purely commercial roofer.
The New York State Capitol Courtyard project received the Copper Development Association’s Copper in Architecture Award. This award recognizes outstanding use of architectural copper, in this case the stunning copper pavilion that Greenwood restored.
