The New Britain Museum of American Art is the first American art museum in the nation. The museum was first housed in a home donated to the museum which is capped off by a beautiful tile roof. This roof was replaced by Ludowici tile with copper trim and downspouts being meticulously restored and replaced by metal artisans.
Fairhaven High School is an architectural gem inside and out. Greenwood and TWC Phoenix both participated in a massive restoration project on the facility. Greenwood installed small flat roofs and sections of slate, as well as copper. TWC Phoenix worked inside and out, waterproofing, as well as repairing and repointing masonry.
The New York State Capitol Courtyard is a roof system that protects the building’s systems such as water and HVAC. Greenwood Industries performed an extensive restoration on the copper Hawk Street Passage and the exterior courtyard to bring them closer to the capitol architect’s original vision. The exterior area was formerly an inaccessible EPDM roof, but is now a paver deck that can be enjoyed by workers and visitors. The project won both a Copper in Architecture Award and an ENR Award of Merit.
In preparations for the church’s 100 year anniversary, St. Mary’s received a full re-roof. This re-roof included both the Ludowici Tile steep slope roofs but also the EPDM flat seam roofs. The tile roofs were selected to match the church’s historic charm and ensure it looked like new for its centennial birthday.
Housed in a historic train station building, Greenwood served as general contractor on an extensive restoration on the Buzzard’s Bay Chamber of Commerce building envelope. This included a Ludowici tile re-roof to match the historic roof, repairs to the tower chimney, support colums and other work to make the 19th century building shine.
Greenwood performed a historic restoration on the slate roof of this Rhode Island government building. In addition to re-roofing the slate, Greenwood also restored the cupola. The cupola was removed, brought to Greenwood’s metal shop and meticulously restored.
The Goodnow Library is a picturesque public library in the hills of Princeton, MA. Greenwood re-roofed its main roof with slate to match its historic charm.
Easton’s historic town hall was given a loving historic restoration by our roofing and metal teams. Greenwood roofers replaced the multi-colored slate roof while our metal team installed beautiful copper including ornate downspouts.
Greenwood and TWC Phoenix took part in the massive restoration of Providence’s landmark cathedral. TWC Phoenix restored and replaced masonry throughout the towers as well as performing waterproofing, some of which had to be done on massive lifts. Greenwood’s roofing team replaced the slate roofs as well as the copper and small flat roofs on the towers.
