TWC Phoenix – Boston Office

November 12, 2025

TWC Phoenix’s Boston office serves as the company’s masonry headquarters, continuing a legacy of craftsmanship that has defined New England’s skyline for nearly five decades. Formerly known as Phoenix Bay State Construction, this division established its roots in 1974 and moved into its current home,  a converted brewery in Boston, in 1976. The move reflected the city’s broader urban renewal era and positioned the company at the heart of Boston’s construction and restoration community.

From complex new builds to intricate restorations, the Boston office delivers exceptional expertise in masonry and waterproofing. The team’s mastery spans natural stone, brick, block, cast stone, and terra cotta, making them a trusted partner for some of the region’s most architecturally ambitious projects, including the BU Center for Computing & Data Sciences, Toscano Family Ice Forum, Harvard Longwood Medical School, and Boston’s Harbor Towers.

The Boston team also leverages cutting-edge technology to improve performance and safety. A standout example is the PAM 35 Overhead Chipping Machine (PAM OVE), a highly efficient tool that reduces operator fatigue, controls silica dust, and increases productivity up to six times over traditional methods. Utilizing this innovative tool reflects TWC Phoenix’s ongoing commitment to craftsmanship, safety, and modernization. Today, as part of Greenwood Industries, TWC Phoenix Boston continues to set the standard for quality masonry and building envelope excellence, preserving Boston’s architectural heritage while shaping its future.

TWC Phoenix – Ashland Office

November 12, 2025

TWC Phoenix, an affiliate of Greenwood Industries in Ashland, brings more than a century of innovation and craftsmanship in waterproofing and masonry to the New England construction landscape.

The Ashland, Massachusetts office serves as the headquarters for TWC Phoenix’s waterproofing operations, while also offering specialized masonry and concrete service & maintenance. This location continues a legacy that began in 1905, when The Waterproofing Company (TWC) pioneered modern waterproofing with its patented Cow Bay Cement, an innovation that established the foundation for today’s building envelope industry.

In 1974, Phoenix Bay State Construction was founded in Boston, quickly earning recognition as one of the region’s most trusted masonry contractors. Known for superior craftsmanship, precision project management, and deep expertise in both new construction and restoration, Phoenix built a reputation synonymous with quality and reliability.

Following their strategic merger in 2023, TWC and Phoenix combined their strengths to form TWC Phoenix, uniting proven experience in waterproofing, masonry, and concrete restoration under one name. Operating as part of Greenwood Industries, one of the nation’s Top 10 commercial roofing and building envelope contractors, TWC Phoenix enhances Greenwood’s comprehensive service portfolio.

From historic landmarks like the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul and Mt. Auburn Story Chapel, to institutional projects such as Clark University’s McCann Academic Building, the Ashland team continues to deliver exceptional work across New England.

The TWC Phoenix Ashland Office represents the evolution of two pioneering companies rooted in craftsmanship, built on innovation, and dedicated to preserving and protecting structures for generations to come.
