David S. Klein is the owner and CEO of Greenwood Industries, Inc. and The Waterproofing Company, the nation’s oldest waterproofing contractor. Mr. Klein started Greenwood Industries in the early 1990s in Worcester, MA, and has led the company to strategic expansions in five states, employing more than 500 union and non-union workers. In his tenure at Greenwood, he has succeeded in engineering and executing some of the most significant projects in the Northeast, like the Massachusetts State House, Boston Garden, and Millennium Tower. More recently, Greenwood completed the epic job of re-roofing the Carrier Dome in Syracuse, NY.
Mr. Klein graduated from Syracuse University in 1992 with a degree in Information Systems from its globally recognized iSchool. He holds licenses in construction supervision and gas fitting and certifications in asbestos removal and construction management. Mr. Klein also carries several applicator certifications.
Mr. Klein serves on the President’s Council for The New England Center for Children. In addition, he is a member of the Worcester Chamber of Commerce, National Roofing Contractors Association, New England Roofing Contractors Association, and the American Subcontractors Association. In 2020, Mr. Klein and his wife, Elizabeth, established the George Klein Endowed Scholarship at Syracuse University in 2020.
