NACIA Award Recognizes Greenwood’s Work on Quincy Public Safety Headquarters
The Copper Development Association has awarded Greenwood Industries a North American Copper in Architecture (NACIA) Award for the team’s work on the Quincy Public Safety Headquarters, celebrating excellence in architectural copper design and craftsmanship.
This recognition highlights the remarkable copper roofing and detailing our sheet metal artisans installed for the landmark public safety facility. The award-winning scope included more than 11,000 square feet of copper and nearly 1,600 square feet of custom copper trim, showcasing the metal’s beauty and versatility in modern architecture.
The project presented a unique opportunity for the team to blend traditional architectural elements with contemporary performance. Designed to complement the building’s classical aesthetic, the copper roof system serves as a standout visual feature while providing long-term value and protection.
Among the project’s highlights are the intricate curved roof sections and customer copper detailing, which showcase the precision and craftsmanship of Greenwood’s sheet metal team.
While the NACIA Award specifically recognizes the building’s copper elements, the overall roofing project was equally impressive in scale. Greenwood’s roofing team installed more than 14,800 square feet of slate roofing, creating a striking contrast of natural slate and architectural copper. Together, these materials deliver a distinguished look that reflects both traditional and modern construction excellence.

This award is especially meaningful, as it marks Greenwood’s second NACIA Award in the past three years, following the firm’s copper work on the New York State Capitol courtyard.
